Clubhouse 1 Project

The GRF board of directors has approved materials and finishes, a contractor has been hired, and work on Clubhouse 1, the 41,000-square-foot community landmark that hosts a wide range of recreation and social activities, is scheduled to begin in early March.

The project includes interior updates to flooring, wall coverings, lighting and fixtures in various locations within most of the clubhouse buildings. The project also includes door and window replacement, as well as painting of all exterior stucco.

To ensure resident safety, and to allow for completion of the work in the most timely and efficient manner, all Clubhouse 1 facilities will be closed to residents during an estimated six-month construction period.

The Village Library and Laguna Woods History Center will remain open, with parking access in the lot behind the library building.

Recreation and Special Events Department staff is taking all possible measures to relocate Clubhouse 1 events. Over the next several weeks, Recreation staff will make scheduling adjustments and will contact all impacted users. Staff requests your cooperation while waiting to be contacted.

Your patience is appreciated, and the GRF board and staff are confident you will be pleased with the end results of this project. Stay tuned for updates along the way!

For more information, contact the Recreation and Special Events office at recreation@vmsinc.org or 949-597-4273.
