Southern California Edison (SCE) is currently replacing a failing underground vault and transformer at the north end of Avenida Sevilla north of Gate 5, which requires the utility to close Avenida Sevilla to through traffic at Via Puerta during working hours. Temporary road closures are in place until Friday, May 17. One lane will be open to one-way traffic overnight and on weekends until the work is completed. During a special February meeting of the VMS board of directors, the members of VMS Inc. (Third Mutual, United Mutual and GRF boards of directors) voted to expand resident employment opportunities with VMS Inc. to include full-time employment.
This policy change was made in part due to various challenges with the post-pandemic job market.
Working with the VMS board, executive staff finalized full-time employment guidelines and, as of May 1, 2024, Village residents are welcome to apply for any full-time positions open within VMS Inc.
As with employment at any organization, there are personnel policies in place, some of which apply to former board members.
