United Laguna Woods Mutual is a non-profit cooperative housing corporation which owns and manages all real property within the original 21 cooperative mutuals. In a cooperative, residents are members of a corporation which owns all real property, including the dwelling units, carports, and laundry facilities within the mutual's boundaries, and each member is entitled to occupy a specific dwelling unit under the terms of an occupancy agreement. Members are governed by an elected board of directors. As corporate members, each resident enters an occupancy agreement to pay a share of the property taxes, maintenance, and other operating expenses.

Election: Annually, in October, the Board of Directors is elected to serve staggered three-year terms.

The Finance Committee oversees the finances and fees related to United Mutual. The committee meets bi-monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:30am in the Administration Bldg. The Energy Committee oversees all electrical and environmental issues related to the United Laguna Woods Mutual community. The Maintenance & Construction Committee oversees the upkeep of all buildings located in the United Laguna Woods Mutual community. The Architectural Control Committee ensures that United Laguna Woods Mutual's buildings are up to code and remain aesthetically pleasing. The Landscape Committee oversees all landscaping matters related to the United Laguna Woods Mutual community. The committee meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. in the Administration Building in the Board Room. Refer to the online Board Calendar for specific meeting dates & times.
Serves as a liaison between the United Laguna Woods Mutual (“United”) Board and the Members of United. The committee also answers questions and promotes communications of Board-approved policies and information to United Members.
