Bicycle Club – Silverstreaks
THE BICYCLE CLUB IS AN INFORMAL GROUP OF VILLAGE CYCLISTS WHO ENJOY THE FELLOWSHIP OF GROUP RIDES. ORIGINALLY CALLED THE “RECYCLERS, ” WE NOW GO UNDER THE NAME OF “SILVERSTREAKS. ” WE HAVE FORMAL RIDES ON SUNDAYS STARTING AT 9.00 am IN THE WINTER AND 8.30 am IN THE SUMMER. THE DESIGNATED DESTINATIONS ARE LISTED IN THE SCHEDULE, AS ARE THE MEETING POINTS AND TIMES OF DEPARTURE. THE RIDES ARE ANYWHERE BETWEEN 18 AND 30 MILES AT AN EASY PACE. DURING THE WEEK, WE HAVE INFORMAL RIDES ON MONDAYS, WEDNESDAYS, AND FRIDAYS. ON MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS, WE MEET AT THE LOS OLIVOS COMMUNITY PARK ON EL CANTO (DIRECTIONS BELOW). ON FRIDAYS, WE MEET AT THE CLUBHOUSE THREE PARKING LOT. STARTING TIMES ARE THE SAME AS THE SCHEDULED SUNDAY RIDE. THESE RIDES ARE GENERALLY LONGER, BETWEEN 30 AND 45 MILES. HOWEVER, ALMOST ALWAYS, THERE ARE A FEW WHO OPT FOR A SHORTER ROUTE. ON OCCASION, THE MORE VENTURESOME RIDERS EMBARK ON MULTI-DAY CROSS-COUNTRY TRIPS.
The start time as of September is 9.00 am. It is suggested that those leaving at different times contact members through the club website: silverstreakslwvbc@ googlegoups.com
