Love Village Television? Then don’t miss “Celebrating 60 Years on Air,” a new exhibit at the Laguna Woods History Center that honors the history of Channel 6 from its very first live broadcast on October 11, 1965, in Clubhouse 1’s Main Lounge to the vibrant programming residents enjoy today.
Hosted by Harry Babbitt, a former big-band singer turned PR pro, that first show helped launch what would become a beloved local institution. The exhibit features decades of Village news, entertainment, and community storytelling. Stop by anytime through December 31 to take a walk through television time.
While you’re there, pop next door to the Village Library, home to more than 30,000 items, from best-sellers and large-print books to DVDs, magazines and more. Whether you’re in the mood for a great story or a new favorite film, there’s something for everyone on the shelves.
