Tech-Enhanced Healthy Aging

The Social Services Division is pleased to announce the next session of the Optimal Aging Lecture Series—“Technology-Enhanced Healthy Aging: Trends and Transformations.”

On Thursday, March 2, at Clubhouse 7 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., explore trends from the Consumer Technology Show with a focus on the digital health innovation sector:

  • Smart home technology for healthier and safer living
  • Wearables: Sensors for connected care and lifestyle
  • Digital and virtual healthcare going forward
  • New trends in longevity innovation technology

Guest lecturer is Julie Rousseau, Ph.D., RN, project scientist in the Department of Family Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology and a volunteer Clinical Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine, and director of strategic initiatives for the division, building partnerships and securing extramural funding for transformative research and clinical care for older adults. She has worked on remote patient monitoring at UC Irvine Health, Healing@Home virtual care, the creation of the Digital Health Engagement Center (opening in April) and more. She serves on the UC Health Care at Home virtual care strategic initiative leadership team.
