As Laguna Woods Village transitions to Ting internet and DirecTV service, some residents may want additional help setting up devices or learning how to use new technology.
A group of experienced resident contractors have organized R.I.S.E. (Resident Internet Support Experts), an independent service offering in-home assistance for those who prefer hands-on help during the transition.
How R.I.S.E. Can Help
R.I.S.E. contractors can offer assistance with such tasks as:
- Transitioning to Ting Internet
- Connecting devices to a new Wi-Fi networks
- Troubleshooting basic technology questions related to the rollout
- Using streaming apps such as Netflix or Prime Video
- Setting up streaming devices, including Smart TVs, Roku, Apple TV and Fire Stick
- Assistance with DirecTV setup once the service is available
To make services more accessible during the community-wide transition, participating contractors have agreed to the following discounted rates:
- $45 for 30 minutes
- $60 per hour
These contractors already work within Laguna Woods Village and are familiar with the community and its technology needs.
