Fitness Centers and Gymnasium<\/p>\n

A. General<\/p>\n
1. Residents must swipe their Laguna Woods Village resident ID cards and have<\/p>\n
the appropriate Fitness Center Release, Waiver of Liability and Indemnity<\/p>\n
Agreement on file prior to using the equipment rooms. Guests must complete<\/p>\n
and sign a Fitness Center Release Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement<\/p>\n
prior to using the equipment rooms.<\/p>\n
Appropriate attire and closed-toe\/heel shoes are required.<\/p>\n
Only registered service dogs trained to perform a task directly related to a<\/p>\n
person\u2019s disability are permitted; no other pets\/animals are permitted.<\/p>\n
4. Outside personal trainers and instructors are not permitted.<\/p>\n

Physical therapists may aid clients for a limited time upon fitness<\/p>\n
supervisor approval.<\/p>\n
b. Caregivers are allowed to assist the resident with fitness supervisor<\/p>\n
approval.<\/p>\n
B. Fitness Centers<\/p>\n
1. Guests under 16 years of age are not permitted to use the fitness centers. The<\/p>\n
maximum number of guests per resident is two. Residents must accompany<\/p>\n
their guests at all times. Guests must sign in upon arrival at the facility.<\/p>\n
With the exception of Clubhouse 5, fitness centers are only open when fitness<\/p>\n
staff is on duty.<\/p>\n
Fitness staff may restrict activity and\/or use of the exercise equipment for any<\/p>\n
participant whose health or safety is in question or if the participant is<\/p>\n
monopolizing equipment.<\/p>\n
4. Exercise equipment time limits are set by fitness center staff.<\/p>\n
C. Gymnasium<\/p>\n
1. Guests under 12 years of age are not permitted to participate in a gymnasium<\/p>\n
activity and may not disrupt any of the activities in progress. The maximum<\/p>\n
number of guests per resident is two. Residents must accompany their guests<\/p>\n
at all times. Residents and guests must sign in upon arrival at the facility.<\/p>\n
Participants must follow proper rules of etiquette for each sport or class and<\/p>\n
demonstrate good sportsmanship.<\/p>\n
Using any type of powder and\/or liquid on the gymnasium floor or on the<\/p>\n
bottom of shoes worn in the facility is not permitted.<\/p>\n
Gymnasium programs must end at least 10 minutes prior to the hour to<\/p>\n
accommodate setup of athletic equipment, chairs, etc., for the next program.<\/p>\n
Effective December 2024
\nResidents and guests must clean up the area after use and return all<\/p>\n
equipment to the proper place.<\/p>\n
Saddleback College Emeritus students must follow college registration process<\/p>\n
and rules when attending college classes.<\/p>\n
Open gym time is on a first-come, first-served basis. Scheduled activities take<\/p>\n
priority.<\/p>\n
Club meetings and events do not have priority use. Club tournaments and<\/p>\n
events must be approved by the Recreation Department in order to take<\/p>\n
priority at the facility. Please reference the Recreation Department policy for<\/p>\n
tournament guidelines.<\/p>\n
D<\/p>\n
Indoor Pickleball<\/p>\n
1. When courts are full, sign-up board (Brad\u2019s Boxes) will be used to establish who<\/p>\n
gets the next available court. A player finishing a game may not sign up for<\/p>\n
another game until the first game is completed and the player has vacated the<\/p>\n
court.<\/p>\n
When there are more than 12 players waiting, shorten games to seven points<\/p>\n
and 10 minutes.<\/p>\n
3. Last players must take down nets and stanchions, and put them away.<\/p>\n
E. Volleyball<\/p>\n
1. Times are designated for advanced play and all-skill level play. Players<\/p>\n
attending the advanced play time are expected to be able to play at a high level<\/p>\n
to allow for game flow and player safety.<\/p>\n
2<\/p>\n
Advanced players wishing to play at the all-skill times should consider the<\/p>\n
safety of the other players when participating<\/p>\n
If a game is on the court, those players have the ability to complete their game<\/p>\n
before other players can take the court.<\/p>\n
4<\/p>\n
All play is based on a drop-in basis and players are encouraged to include all<\/p>\n
players that arrive to play at that time.<\/p>\n
Note: The Recreation Department reserves the right to review and adjust the<\/p>\n
operating rules to accommodate the needs of the community. All GRF policies and<\/p>\n
procedures apply to the use of the amenities.<\/p>\n
