Swimming pools are open only when a staff lifeguard is on duty.<\/p>\n
Appropriate swimming attire and accessories are required.<\/p>\n
Eating and drinking while in the pool is prohibited.<\/p>\n
Glass containers are prohibited.<\/p>\n
Smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.<\/p>\n
Only service dogs trained to perform a task directly related to a person\u2019s disability are<\/p>\n
permitted. No other pet\/animal is permitted.<\/p>\n
Running is prohibited.<\/p>\n
Floatation devices are not permitted unless specifically designed for exercise or<\/p>\n
therapeutic use.<\/p>\n
a. Adults may use equipment such as pool noodles, pull buoys, kickboards, masks,<\/p>\n
fins, snorkels and paddles.<\/p>\n
10<\/p>\n
Organized pool games may be played only if they do not interfere with other pool uses<\/p>\n
such as lap swimming.<\/p>\n
11<\/p>\n
Lockers may be used on a daily basis only. Residents and guests must supply their<\/p>\n
own locks in order to secure their belongings. Locks and personal items must be<\/p>\n
removed when the resident and guest leave the facility.<\/p>\n

Showers are limited to 10 minutes per person per day.<\/p>\n
13<\/p>\n
No chairs or other GRF property may be moved into the locker room or shower stalls.<\/p>\n

Shower before entering the pool or hot pool.<\/p>\n
15<\/p>\n
Persons with bandages, open sores, cuts or rashes may not use the pool or hot pool.<\/p>\n
16<\/p>\n
Lap swimmers swimming the length of the pool have the right of way with the<\/p>\n
exception of pools 4 and 6.<\/p>\n
17<\/p>\n
Locker rooms open 15 minutes prior to the pool opening and close 15 minutes after<\/p>\n
pool closing.<\/p>\n

All pools will be cleared of swimmers during inclement weather at the lifeguard\u2019s<\/p>\n
discretion. Swimmers may not reenter the water until at least 30 minutes following<\/p>\n
the last sighting of lightning or sound of thunder.<\/p>\n

Swimming pool hours of operation vary according to the time of year, holidays and<\/p>\n
scheduled or emergency maintenance. Check hours of operation at the clubhouses,<\/p>\n
the recreation office and the pools.<\/p>\n

Pool and hot pool temperatures are kept as closely as possible to the following<\/p>\n

Each pool is renovated and\/or undergoes preventative maintenance annually. The<\/p>\n
process takes approximately six to eight weeks per pool beginning in November and<\/p>\n
concluding by Memorial Day weekend. Pool 6 is closed October 1 until the Saturday of<\/p>\n
Memorial Day weekend. If a pool is undergoing major renovations, the six- to eight-<\/p>\n
week schedule may be prolonged as necessary.<\/p>\n

Amplified music on the pool deck is prohibited. Amplified music is permitted only<\/p>\n
during classes and must be approved by the Recreation Department.<\/p>\n
23<\/p>\n
The guard shack phone is for business use only; use by anyone other than an<\/p>\n
employee is prohibited.<\/p>\n
24<\/p>\n
Lifeguards are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Contact Security Services<\/p>\n
personnel at 949-597-4435 to report lost or stolen items.<\/p>\n
25<\/p>\n
Emeritus students may use the pool deck and locker rooms 15 minutes prior to the<\/p>\n
start of class and may enter the pool no more than five minutes prior. Students must<\/p>\n
leave the facility within 15 minutes of the end of the class.<\/p>\n
26.<\/p>\n
Scheduled use is determined by the Recreation Department and is subject to change.<\/p>\n
Use may be restricted due to scheduled maintenance, classes and events.<\/p>\n
\u5ba2\u4eba<\/p>\n
1. The maximum number of guests allowed per resident is five. The lifeguard on duty regulates<\/p>\n
the number of guests entering the pool. Residents must accompany their guests at all times.<\/p>\n
Hot Pool<\/p>\n
1. The recommended time limit in a hot pool is five minutes. After an extended period,<\/p>\n
the lifeguard may request that users exit.<\/p>\n
2. Strenuous exercise in the hot pools is prohibited.<\/p>\n
3. Children under 16 years of age are not permitted in the hot pools.<\/p>\n
Children\u2019s Swim<\/p>\n
1<\/p>\n
Lifeguards have the authority to prohibit a child from entering the pool.<\/p>\n
2<\/p>\n
Guests 15 years of age or younger are considered children. Children are permitted to<\/p>\n
swim daily at a designated pool. Starting Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and<\/p>\n
continuing through October 1, Children\u2019s Swim time is from noon until 4 p.m. at<\/p>\n
pool 6. The remainder of the year it is from 2 to 4 p.m. at pool 2.<\/p>\n
Children must vacate the pool area within 15 minutes of the end of Children\u2019s Swim.<\/p>\n
Children unable to swim must wear a Coast Guard-certified flotation device, including<\/p>\n
those built into swimsuits.<\/p>\n
Residents or their adult guest(s) must accompany and remain in the pool with their<\/p>\n
children who are novice swimmers.<\/p>\n
Permitted toys include dive toys and dive rings only. Rafts, kickboards, balls, water<\/p>\n
guns, inflatables, boogie boards and flotation devices are prohibited.<\/p>\n

\n7. Children may not run on the pool deck; make excessive noise; play rough, including<\/p>\n
pushing and splashing; ride on another person\u2019s back or shoulders; jump or dive into<\/p>\n
the shallow end of the pool; slide down or hang on railings and ladders; play on stairs;<\/p>\n
climb out of pool without using ladder or stairs; perform back dives; etc.<\/p>\n
E. Lap Swim Usage<\/p>\n
1<\/p>\n
Use of lap lane is limited to 60 minutes.<\/p>\n
2<\/p>\n
Swimming across lap lanes is prohibited unless a swimmer is entering or exiting the<\/p>\n
pool from the side.<\/p>\n
Lap lanes are for lap swimming or aquatic exercise only (unless otherwise designated)<\/p>\n
If all lanes are taken, swimmers must share the lane (up to two swimmers per lane).<\/p>\n
Hanging on the lane dividers is not permitted.<\/p>\n
Diving or jumping into the shallow end is prohibited. Diving or jumping into the pool is<\/p>\n
allowed only in the five-foot or deeper area.<\/p>\n
7<\/p>\n
No diving into crowded lanes.<\/p>\n
Swim Schedule<\/p>\n
Lap<\/p>\n
1. The number of lane lines at Pools 2 and 5 will be determined by the current pool<\/p>\n
schedule. Refer to the current pool schedule for lane line schedule details.<\/p>\n
Lap Lane Etiquette<\/p>\n
1<\/p>\n
Swim to the right of the lane at all times.<\/p>\n
2<\/p>\n
When passing another swimmer, pass to that person\u2019s left, down the middle of the<\/p>\n
lane at full speed. Once you have finished passing, return to the right of the lane.<\/p>\n
When being passed, slow down until the overtaking swimmer has completely passed<\/p>\n
If someone is at your heels when you reach the wall, pause to let that person pass.<\/p>\n
When swimming into the wall, keep to the right (not the middle or left) so that a<\/p>\n
person passing at the end of a lane has space to turn.<\/p>\n
When standing at the wall of a lane, stand to the left (when facing the wall) whenever<\/p>\n
possible allow space for the incoming swimmers.<\/p>\n
To stretch or do other water exercises, move to the proper swim lane reserved for<\/p>\n
recreation\/social swimming.<\/p>\n
8<\/p>\n
Inform the lifeguard\/clubhouse front desk staff if a problem should arise.<\/p>\n
H. Online Advance Reservations – Pool 2<\/p>\n
1<\/p>\n
Lane lines may be reserved in advance via the online reservations system. The<\/p>\n
reserving party may determine the number of swimmers in the reserved lane.<\/p>\n
Advance bookings are limited to residents only.<\/p>\n

Swimmers are allowed three advance bookings per week.<\/p>\n
b<\/p>\n
Swimmers unable to keep their reservation must cancel their booking.<\/p>\n

Swimmers with advance reservations must claim their assigned lane within 10<\/p>\n
minutes of their start time or the reservation will be deemed canceled and the lane<\/p>\n
will then be available for open lap swim.<\/p>\n
Swimmers found in violation will be subject to the following disciplinary actions:<\/p>\n
