1.0<\/p>\n
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
1.1<\/p>\n
PERMITS AND FEES: A Mutual permit is required for all alterations to<\/p>\n
the building. A City of Laguna Woods permit may be required. All fees<\/p>\n
for both Mutual and City permits shall be paid for by the Member and\/or<\/p>\n
his or her contractor. Member and\/or his or her contractor must provide<\/p>\n
the Permits and Inspections office with City permit number(s) prior to<\/p>\n
beginning work.<\/p>\n
1.2<\/p>\n
MEMBERS’ RESPONSIBILITY: The Member is solely responsible for<\/p>\n
the maintenance, repair, and\/or removal of all alterations to the<\/p>\n
building.<\/p>\n
1.3<\/p>\n
CODES AND REGULATIONS: All work shall comply with all<\/p>\n
applicable local, state, and federal requirements including, but not<\/p>\n
limited to, the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC).<\/p>\n
1.4<\/p>\n
WORK HOURS: No work shall commence prior to 7:00a.m. and no<\/p>\n
work shall be permitted after 6:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Work on<\/p>\n
Saturday shall be permitted from 9:00a.m \u2014 2:00p.m. for work which<\/p>\n
results in construction-related noise (e.g. cutting tile, hammering, use<\/p>\n
of power tools). For work that does not result in excessive noise, such<\/p>\n
as painting and carpet installation, permitted hours are 7:00a.m. \u2014<\/p>\n
6:00p.m. No work whatsoever shall be permitted on Sunday.<\/p>\n
1.5<\/p>\n
PLANS: The Member applying for a permit shall provide to the Permits<\/p>\n
and Inspections office a detailed plan(s) for approval indicating all work<\/p>\n
to be done, i.e., size, location, description and specifications.<\/p>\n
1.6<\/p>\n
DUMPSITES: The premises shall be kept free of accumulation of<\/p>\n
waste materials and\/or rubbish caused by construction work. The<\/p>\n
Member and\/or his or her contractor is responsible for removal of<\/p>\n
debris and excess material and must leave work areas “BROOM<\/p>\n
CLEAN” daily. USE OF COMMUNITY DUMPSITES FOR<\/p>\n
CONSTRUCTION RELATED DUMPING IS NOT PERMITTED.
\nContractor’s or Member’s dumpsters, if required, must have location<\/p>\n
approved by the Permits and Inspections office.<\/p>\n
1.7<\/p>\n
CONTRACTOR: Installation must be performed by a California<\/p>\n
licensed contractor of the appropriate trade.<\/p>\n
1.8<\/p>\n
CONTRACTOR\u2019S CONDUCT: Member’s contractor’s, their personnel,<\/p>\n
and sub-contractors shall refrain at all times from using profanity,<\/p>\n
abusive or loud language, and must wear shirts at all times. Radio,<\/p>\n
MP3, CD or cassette players are not permitted on the project site.<\/p>\n
Contractor personnel will, at all times, extend and exhibit a courteous<\/p>\n
demeanor to residents.<\/p>\n
1.0<\/p>\n
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (2)<\/p>\n
1.1<\/p>\n
The Permits and Inspections office shall issue permits for all storage<\/p>\n
cabinets in carports, breezeways, and parking areas.<\/p>\n
1.2<\/p>\n
All cabinets shall be constructed of wood per standard plan drawings.<\/p>\n
1.3<\/p>\n
Cabinets shall be positively attached to adjacent wall or structure to<\/p>\n
prevent overturning as required by the Uniform Building Code. Method<\/p>\n
of attachment shall provide a minimum of 1.5-inch clearance (air)<\/p>\n
space to prevent moisture damage to the cabinet.<\/p>\n
1.4<\/p>\n
A 12\u201d access shall be maintained between cabinets and existing<\/p>\n
plumbing, electrical, or other utility installations and\/or outlets.<\/p>\n
1.5<\/p>\n
No refrigerators, freezers, or other major electric appliances will be<\/p>\n
allowed in or around storage cabinets. No electrical wiring shall be run<\/p>\n
through the cabinet.<\/p>\n
1.6<\/p>\n
No loose items are allowed outside of storage cabinets. All personal<\/p>\n
property, including foot lockers, file cabinets, trunks and work benches<\/p>\n
shall be stored in cabinets and shall not violate use restrictions set forth<\/p>\n
in Article Ill of Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions.<\/p>\n
1.7<\/p>\n
All cabinets shall be legibly labeled with the manor number.<\/p>\n
1.8<\/p>\n
Permits will not be required for cabinets, which are located within<\/p>\n
patios or balconies provided they are no taller than 4\u2019-0″, no wider than<\/p>\n
4-0″, or no deeper than 3\u2019-0″.<\/p>\n
2.0<\/p>\n
CARPORT CABINETS<\/p>\n

Cabinets shall be no taller than 3\u2019-6\u201d, no wider than the carport stall,<\/p>\n
nor deeper than 2-6\u201d.<\/p>\n
2.2<\/p>\n
Cabinets shall be painted to match all existing cabinets or adjacent<\/p>\n
building walls (if no cabinets exist in the area).

The cabinet shall be installed on a base constructed of galvanized or<\/p>\n
non-ferrous metal, pressure treated lumber, or equivalent material as<\/p>\n
determined by the Permits and Inspections office.<\/p>\n
3.0<\/p>\n
BREEZEWAY CABINETS<\/p>\n
3.41<\/p>\n
Breezeway cabinets will be permitted in Casa Linda (11-06 type) and<\/p>\n
Casa Contenta (KK-08 type) buildings only.<\/p>\n
3.2<\/p>\n
The cabinet shall be no taller than 5\u00b0-6\u201d, no wider than 3\u2019-0\u201d, nor deeper<\/p>\n
than 1\u2019-6\u201d.<\/p>\n
3.3<\/p>\n
Cabinets will be limited to two per breezeway on a first-come, first-<\/p>\n
served basis.<\/p>\n
3.4<\/p>\n
Cabinet units will be placed under stairwell area as indicated on<\/p>\n
drawing.<\/p>\n
3.5<\/p>\n
Cabinets will be painted to match existing building color.<\/p>\n
3.6<\/p>\n
The cabinet shall be placed on castors.<\/p>\n
4.0<\/p>\n
UNDERGROUND CARPORT CABINETS<\/p>\n
(GARDEN VILLA-TYPE BUILDINGS)<\/p>\n
4.1<\/p>\n
Cabinets shall be limited to the manor owner’s space or adjacent area<\/p>\n
as approved by the Permits and Inspections office and conform to the<\/p>\n
standard plans.<\/p>\n
4.2<\/p>\n
Cabinets shall be painted to match all existing cabinets or adjacent<\/p>\n
building walls (if no cabinets exist in the area).<\/p>\n
4.3<\/p>\n
The cabinet shall be no taller than 7\u00b0-0\u201d, no wider than 4\u2019-0\u201d, nor deeper<\/p>\n
than 3-0\u201d.<\/p>\n
4.4<\/p>\n
In those areas where the adjacent wall height is 3′-6″; the cabinets<\/p>\n
shall not exceed the height of the wall.<\/p>\n
4.5<\/p>\n
The cabinet shall be installed on a base constructed of galvanized or<\/p>\n
non-ferrous metal, pressure treated lumber, or equivalent material as<\/p>\n
