The Third Laguna Hills Mutual and United Laguna Woods Mutual boards of directors are calling for interested Laguna Woods Village members to submit candidate applications for the 2025 annual election.

United Mutual 2025 Election Details

There will be three open positions with terms ending in 2028:

  • Wednesday, May 28: Nominations opened. Obtain candidate applications in the General Manager’s office at the Community Center.
  • Friday, June 27: Submit candidate statements to the inspector of elections per candidate packet instructions by 5 p.m.
  • Friday, June 27: Submit completed applications and candidate video agreements to the corporate secretaries by 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 26: Ballots mailed.
  • Thursday, September 25: Ballots due by 11 a.m.
  • Friday, September 26: Ballots counted at a United board special tabulation meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Center board room.
  • Tuesday, October 14:United Mutual candidates with the most votes will be seated on the United board at the annual meeting of members at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center board room.

Third Mutual 2025 Election Details

  • Tuesday, June 3: Nominations open. Obtain candidate applications in the General Manager’s office at the Community Center.
  • Thursday, July 3: Submit candidate statements to the inspector of elections per candidate packet instructions by 5 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 3: Submit completed applications and candidate video agreements to the corporate secretaries by 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 26: Ballots mailed.
  • Thursday, September 25: Ballots due by 11 a.m.
  • Friday, September 26: Ballots counted at a Third board special tabulation meeting at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center board room.
  • Thursday, October 2:Third Mutual candidates with the most votes will be seated on the Third board at the annual meeting of members at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center board room.

How to Submit Your Candidacy

Interested members may obtain an application and election process instructions from the General Manager’s office, located in the Community Center (24351 El Toro Road) from Corporate Secretary Makayla Schwietert (949-268-2295) or Assistant Corporate Secretary Paul Nguyen (949-268-2383). Please check in with the Community Center front desk concierge, who will notify the corporate secretaries that you wish to obtain election documents.
