On Monday, May 26, several thousand runners will compete in the City of Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon (10K and 5K). The race starts on Calle de la Louisa and Health Center Drive in Laguna Hills. The streets surrounding the mall and the Saddleback Memorial Medical Center will all be closed (Calle de la Louisa, Health Center Drive, Calle de los Caballeros, the mall road and Paseo de la Valencia) from 5 to 8:30 a.m. Both the Half Marathon, 5K and 10K finish at the Laguna Hills Community Center on Alicia Parkway.

A portion of the course will begin on Calle de La Louisa, and enter the Village by way of Gate 2, traverse around Via Estrada, to Calle Aragon, to Avenida Sevilla, to Avenida Majorca and back to Via Estrada and back out Gate 2.
Gates 2 and 4 will be closed from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. The following cul-de-sacs will also be closed from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Cul-de-sacs 9, 10, 21-24, 40, and 51-61.
Gate 3 will remain open for resident access throughout the event. Signs will be placed along the course a week in advance of the event, advising residents that no driving or parking is allowed during the race and on the race course between 5:30 and 8:30 a.m. on race day.
Volunteers Needed
Interested residents can click here to register to volunteer at the water station located along the portion of the race route that runs through the Village. Select the Laguna Woods Village water station (Fluid Station No. 1) or explore other volunteer openings along the half marathon route.
