Office and Personnel Relocation
Several Village Management Services employees will soon move from Building E and parts of Building D to leased space in the Town Centre building adjacent to the Community Center. Dispatch personnel and administrative staff from the Security Services Department, Maintenance Services and Damage Restoration divisions (from the Maintenance and Construction Department) and administrative support staff from the Landscaping Services Department will relocate within the next several weeks.
GRF approved the relocation and a 24-month lease in the Town Centre building because of the maintenance center building’s condition. Building E, first constructed as a metal warehouse facility, was reconstructed in 1976 as a single-story wood-framed structure. Over the past eight years, it has become unsustainable as an office building.
A 2021/2022 draft plan kept employees in their current workspace while a new building underwent construction in another area of the maintenance yard parking area. Following construction, employees would move into the new building. Building E would then be demolished, and the area converted to parking space.
The plan was placed on hold earlier this year while a space study is conducted; in the meantime, employees must move to another office space. The current estimate to complete the new building project is two years and includes the following phases:
- Perform a space analysis, which is currently in progress.
- Present and analyze findings.
- Draw up a new project and send it out for bid.
- Complete construction and/or building out process.
All these phases will be presented and discussed at the GRF Maintenance and Construction and Finance committee meetings and at GRF board meetings. Interested residents should watch for these upcoming meetings in the Calendars section of the Village website, where agendas are posted a few days before the meetings.
