What About My COVID Booster?
You got both your COVID-19 shots—but what about that booster shot? While third doses are currently available for certain moderately to severely immunocompromised people, the White House COVID-19 Response Team and public health officials from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that third-shot boosters will be available “beginning the week of September 20 and starting eight months after an individual’s second dose.”
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has not given the green light for boosters yet, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has not yet announced recommendations about who should get them when they are available, aside from the previously mentioned third doses for immunocompromised people.
Plan for the Village?
At this time, the Village has no plans to hold a booster clinic and urges residents to seek third-dose booster shots from their health care provider or pharmacy.
