GRF General Notice of 2021 Annual Election

Notice is hereby given, that in accordance with Civil Code §5115(b), “An association shall provide general notice of all of the following at least 30 days before the ballots are distributed: (1) The date and time by which, and the physical address where ballots are to be returned by mail or handed to the inspector or inspector s of elections. (2) The date, time, and location of the meeting at which ballots will be counted. (3) The list of all candidates’ names that will appear on the ballot … 

The nomination period for the Golden Rain Foundation Board of Directors 2021 election is closed, and the candidates listed below will appear on the ballot. Four board positions are open; two terms end at the 2024 annual election, one term ends at the 2023 annual election and one United delegate term ends at the 2024 annual election.

The GRF “Meet the Candidates” meeting is scheduled for Friday, October 29, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in the Community Center board room.

Ballots will be sent to corporate members on Thursday, October 21, 2021, and must be returned to the ballot box located in front of the Community Center by 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021. 

One United board delegate will be appointed at a special United board meeting on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 3 p.m., immediately following the agenda prep meeting. All United candidates are eligible to be appointed to the term ending at the 2024 annual election. 

Ballots will be counted during the annual corporate members meeting on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the corporation’s principal offices in the Community Center board room located at 24351 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods, CA 92637.

Elected board members will be seated during the annual corporate members meeting and will select their term of preference (2023 or 2024) according to the greatest to least number of votes received. For example, candidate Smith received the highest number of votes and selects his/her preferred term first; candidate Jones, who received the second-highest number of votes, selects his/her preferred term and so on, until all positions/terms are filled.
