Social Services Division Expands Team

Residents will see two new faces in the Social Services Division at the Community Center. 

Sheri Dixon, LCSW, who joined Village Management Services in December, will help the division continue to meet its mission, which is to help Laguna Woods Village residents maintain independence and enhance their quality of life. Sheri holds a Master of Social Work from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), and a Bachelor of Science, Human Services from California State University, Fullerton.

Lourdes Oseguera, MSW, who will join the division this month, is employed by Alzheimer’s Orange County (AlzOC) and located within Laguna Woods Social Services in order to provide direct services to residents with memory impairment. Lourdes holds a Master of Social Work from CSULB and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from CSULB.

AlzOC is a local, community-based service organization that provides hands-on care and support, information, linkage to community resources and education for individuals and families in Orange County who are concerned about or experience memory loss, including Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, while advancing critical research for a cure. AlzOC services include a helpline; family care consultations; support groups; brain health and evidence-based memory enhancement classes; early-stage memory-loss programs; education for families, community and professionals; advocacy; and two adult day health care centers. AlzOC was founded in 1982 and has been serving Orange County families for 38 years.
