Golf Tournament Raises $35K for Foundation of Laguna Woods Village
Participants at this year’s Memorial Golf Tournament and Dinner helped raise $35,500 to benefit the Foundation of Laguna Woods Village, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to providing support services to Village Residents in need since 1997.
The event, co-hosted by the Laguna Woods Men’s Golf Club and Laguna Woods Village, took place in mid-May.
On a case-by-case basis, the Foundation of Laguna Woods Village provides temporary emergency assistance to Residents, helping with medication, utility bills, food shortages, medical and nursing care, caregivers and respite care, taxi vouchers, Meals-On-Wheels, adult day care, and senior center congregate meals.
Assistance requests are processed by the Village’s Social Services Department and submitted to the foundation’s board after all other sources of assistance are exhausted. Resident identities are kept confidential, and all payments are made directly to service providers.
