A<\/p>\n<p>reflective sun scoop in the rooftop assembly directs sunlight into a metal<\/p>\n<p>or plastic tube with a highly reflective interior coating. The reflective tube<\/p>\n<p>guides sunlight to a diffuser lens mounted on the interior ceiling surface<\/p>\n<p>that spreads light throughout the room.<\/p>\n<p>2.2<\/p>\n<p>Tubular skylights are sold under several different brand names. For the<\/p>\n<p>purpose of definition, some of the more common brand names include:<\/p>\n<p>Solatube, Daylight, Solar Bright, Sun-Dome, Sun-Tek, True Light, etc.<\/p>\n<p>3.0<\/p>\n<p>APPLICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>341<\/p>\n<p>Tubular skylight installer shall guarantee in writing, the watertight integrity<\/p>\n<p>of the skylight, tube and related roof area for 5 years from date of<\/p>\n<p>installation, and shall repair, without charge to owner, any such defects.<\/p>\n<p>3.2<\/p>\n<p>All roofing work shall be in strict conformance with current building codes<\/p>\n<p>and any applicable Mutual Standard Drawings.<\/p>\n<p>3.3<\/p>\n<p>No units shall be installed with the edge of the tubular skylight flashing<\/p>\n<p>within 12&#8243; of any vent, ridge or vertical structure.<br \/>\nUNITED LAGUNA WOODS<\/p>\n<p>\u5171\u901a\u306e<\/p>\n<p>3.4<\/p>\n<p>Hypalon skirts will not be permitted as acceptable flashings.<\/p>\n<p>3.5<\/p>\n<p>All installations in flat roofs shall be as follows: PVC Cool roof, the skylight<\/p>\n<p>contractor must hire the Mutual roofing contractor to complete the tie-in to<\/p>\n<p>the roof deck.<\/p>\n<p>Spud back the perimeter around the flashing edge a minimum of 10&#8243; and<\/p>\n<p>maximum 14&#8243;, leaving roof surface smooth and gravel-free for primer and<\/p>\n<p>base felt application.<\/p>\n<p>Apply *Conprime asphalt primer to flashing and scraped\/spudded roof<\/p>\n<p>surface and let dry.<\/p>\n<p>Apply Roofing Mastic to base of flashing per manufacturer&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>specifications and press in place. Nail aluminum base through raised<\/p>\n<p>surface of outer ring, 10 inches on center.<\/p>\n<p>(First Ply\/Base Ply)<\/p>\n<p>Apply *Conhesive at the rate of 2 gallons per 100 sq. ft. and cover with<\/p>\n<p>*MB25 base sheet, starting at vertical surface across the flashing and<\/p>\n<p>over roof surface to a point three (2) inches beyond the edge of the<\/p>\n<p>flashing.<\/p>\n<p>(Second and Third Ply)<\/p>\n<p>e<\/p>\n<p>Apply a second ply of *MB25 2&#8243; beyond the perimeter of the base ply and<\/p>\n<p>continue across roof, terminating at vertical surface, allowing the *MB25<\/p>\n<p>to ooze out slightly onto the vertical surface and above the ply. Apply a<\/p>\n<p>third ply of *MB25 2&#8243; beyond the perimeter of second ply and continue<\/p>\n<p>across roof, terminating at vertical surface and again allow the *MB25 to<\/p>\n<p>ooze out slightly onto the vertical surface and above the ply. Both plies to<\/p>\n<p>be embedded in *Conhesive at the rate of 2 gallons per 100 sq. ft.<\/p>\n<p>Apply one layer of *MB Cap embedded in *Conhesive at the rate of 2<\/p>\n<p>gallons per 100 sq. ft. starting at the bottom of the vertical surface across<\/p>\n<p>the newly installed plies, to a point seven (7) inches away from the<\/p>\n<p>flashing edge and allow the *MB25 to ooze out slightly onto the vertical<\/p>\n<p>surface and above the ply.<br \/>\nUNITED LAGUNA WOODS<\/p>\n<p>MUTWU<\/p>\n<p>\u30a2\u30eb<\/p>\n<p>Nail perimeter of cap sheet 4 inches on center. Apply a 3 coarse<\/p>\n<p>application over cap sheet edge using roofing mastic and webbing. Float<\/p>\n<p>entire cap sheet surface with *Conhesive at the rate of 2 gallons per 100<\/p>\n<p>sq. ft.<\/p>\n<p>Reapply gravel evenly to entire area, stopping at the tubular skylight<\/p>\n<p>vertical surface.<\/p>\n<p>3.6<\/p>\n<p>Pitched Roofs: All pitched roof (over 3:12) installations shall be as<\/p>\n<p>follows:<\/p>\n<p>1\u3064\u306e<\/p>\n<p>Asphalt Shingles: Laced into field as existing roof jacks are<\/p>\n<p>installed. No caulking will be used as primary water leak protection<\/p>\n<p>Tile\/Concrete: Laced into field as existing roof jacks are installed.<\/p>\n<p>No caulking will be used as primary water leak protection. All tiles<\/p>\n<p>shall be saw cut and not &#8220;broken to fit&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Metal Shingles\/Tiles: Laced into field as existing roof jacks are<\/p>\n<p>installed. No caulking will be used as primary water leak protection<\/p>\n<p>All tiles shall be saw cut or sheared and not &#8220;broken or bent to fit&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>3.7<\/p>\n<p>Notification: Member\/contractor must notify the Manor Alterations<\/p>\n<p>Department of any broken\/damaged roofing materials, before any<\/p>\n<p>installation begins. Additional roofing materials may be required for typical<\/p>\n<p>installations, due to breakage\/damage. Member and contractor are<\/p>\n<p>responsible for restoring the roof to its original pre-installation condition,<\/p>\n<p>regardless of the amount of replacement required. All materials will match<\/p>\n<p>the existing manufacturer and color or approved equal by the Manor<\/p>\n<p>Alterations Department.<\/p>\n<p>3.8<\/p>\n<p>Final Inspection: During the final inspection, should the Manor<\/p>\n<p>Alterations Department notice damaged\/broken roofing materials that<\/p>\n<p>appear to be caused by the installer\/installation and absent prior notice of<\/p>\n<p>damage, the Member\/contractor will be responsible for the proper<\/p>\n<p>repair(s).<\/p>\n<p>3.9<\/p>\n<p>ASBESTOS: Installations in existing acoustical sprayed ceilings may<\/p>\n<p>encounter asbestos. The Member(s) and contractor(s) must meet or<br \/>\nUNITED LAGUNA WOODS<\/p>\n<p>\u5171\u901a\u306e<\/p>\n<p>exceed requirements of federal, state and local government regarding<\/p>\n<p>asbestos removal procedures.<\/p>\n<p>TUBULAR SKYLIGHT INSTALLATION SPECIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>(Prepared 7\/26\/00)<\/p>\n<p>(Revised 9\/9\/03)<\/p>\n<p>APPLICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>Contractor shall guarantee in writing, watertight integrity of the tubular skylight<\/p>\n<p>and related roof area for (5) five years from date of installation, and shall repair,<\/p>\n<p>without charge to owner, any such defects.<\/p>\n<p>All alterations to Mutual structures require the issuance of a VMS Mutual<\/p>\n<p>Consent for Manor Alteration and VMS Staff inspection.<\/p>\n<p>All roofing work shall be in strict conformance with current building codes and<\/p>\n<p>any applicable standard drawings.<\/p>\n<p>No units shall be installed with the edge of the tubular skylight flashing within 12&#8243;<\/p>\n<p>of any vent, cricket, gravel stop, ridge, valley or vertical structure.<\/p>\n<p>All tubular skylight flashings are required to be min. 8\u201d in height.<\/p>\n<p>All tubular skylight installations require a 2\u201d Turret Extension to conform to Mutual<\/p>\n<p>Standards height requirements.<\/p>\n<p>All tubular skylight flashings and related parts to be painted either Flat Black<\/p>\n<p>(BUR Roofs); Flat Black or Orange (Tile and Metal Shingle Roofs); Flat Black or<\/p>\n<p>Tan (Comp\/Shingle Roofs) or to match color scheme of roof.<\/p>\n<p>FLAT ROOFS<\/p>\n<p>Built-Up Roofing<\/p>\n<p>10\u201d, 14\u201d and 16\u201d tubular skylights are the only size units approved for installation<\/p>\n<p>on BUR roofs in United Mutual.<br \/>\nUNITED LAGUNA WOODS<\/p>\n<p>\u5171\u901a\u306e<\/p>\n<p>All BUR tubular skylight flashings are required to have a 2\u201d metal extension turret<\/p>\n<p>installed, set in polyurethane sealant, to meet Mutual Standards for height<\/p>\n<p>requirements.<\/p>\n<p>1\u3064\u306e<\/p>\n<p>Spud back the perimeter around the Spun Aluminum Flashing edge<\/p>\n<p>a minimum of 10&#8243; and maximum of 14&#8243;, leaving roof surface<\/p>\n<p>smooth and gravel-free for primer and base felt application.<\/p>\n<p>Apply *Celotex Asphalt Primer to Spun Aluminum Flashing and<\/p>\n<p>scraped\/spudded roof surface and let dry.<\/p>\n<p>Apply Roofing Mastic to base of Spun Aluminum Flashing per<\/p>\n<p>manufacturer&#8217;s specifications and press in place. Nail aluminum<\/p>\n<p>base through raised surface of outer ring 10\u201d on center with 1-1\/4\u201d<\/p>\n<p>e.g. galvanized roofing nails.<\/p>\n<p>(First Ply\/Base Ply)<\/p>\n<p>Apply *S.1.S. Roof Adhesive (Cold Application) at the rate of 2<\/p>\n<p>gallons per 100 sq. ft. and cover with * VaporBar GB #25 Base<\/p>\n<p>Sheet, starting at tubular skylight vertical surface across the<\/p>\n<p>flashing and over roof surface to a point 2\u201d beyond the edge of the<\/p>\n<p>flashing.<\/p>\n<p>(Second and Third Ply)<\/p>\n<p>Apply a second ply of *Celo-Glass IV 2&#8243; beyond the perimeter of<\/p>\n<p>the base ply and continue across roof, terminating at tubular<\/p>\n<p>skylight vertical surface, allowing the *S.1.S. Roof Adhesive to ooze<\/p>\n<p>out slightly onto the vertical surface and above the ply. Roof Adhesive to ooze out slightly onto the vertical<\/p>\n<p>surface and above the ply.<\/p>\n<p>Apply a 3 course application (mastic\/webbing\/mastic) over cap<\/p>\n<p>sheet edge using roofing mastic and webbing.<\/p>\n<p>PITCHED ROOFS<\/p>\n<p>Asphalt Composition Shingles<\/p>\n<p>10\u201d and 14\u201d tubular skylights are the only size units approved for<\/p>\n<p>installation on pitched Composition Shingle roofs in United Mutual.<\/p>\n<p>1\u3064\u306e<\/p>\n<p>Pitched Metal Flashing: The powder coated black epoxy based<\/p>\n<p>finish applied over a 0.032 in. thick aluminized steel stamped<\/p>\n<p>seamless flashing with 32 total added rigid ribs and 8 pre-punched<\/p>\n<p>fastener holes shall be laced into existing Asphalt Composition<\/p>\n<p>Shingles as existing roof jacks are installed.<\/p>\n<p>Metal Turret Extension: Shall be installed onto Pitched Metal<\/p>\n<p>Flashings with a polyurethane sealant and screwed into flashing<\/p>\n<p>with (4) #8&#215;1\/2 philips-head, self-tapping stainless steel screws.<\/p>\n<p>Turret Shroud: Shall be installed onto Pitched Metal Flashing and<\/p>\n<p>Turret Extension.<\/p>\n<p>d<\/p>\n<p>No caulking will be used as primary water leak protection.<\/p>\n<p>Concrete &amp; Clay Tile<\/p>\n<p>10\u201d tubular skylights are the only size units approved for installation on all<\/p>\n<p>tile roofs in United Mutual.<\/p>\n<p>1\u3064\u306e<\/p>\n<p>Counterbase Flashing: injected molded polypropylene CC2<\/p>\n<p>classified, 30% mica filled .125 inch thick mold tech pattern<\/p>\n<p>MT 11365 finish base flashing shall be installed between rafters and<\/p>\n<p>be laced into existing underlayment as existing roof jacks are<\/p>\n<p>installed.<br \/>\nUNITED LAGUNA WOODS<\/p>\n<p>\u5171\u901a\u306e<\/p>\n<p>1<\/p>\n<p>Monier concrete tiles over space sheathing and\/or<\/p>\n<p>plywood with no underlayment do not require the<\/p>\n<p>installation of a Counterbase Flashing.<\/p>\n<p>Secondary Flashing: Polypropylene (Tile Retro Kit for 10\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Solatubes) or .060 inch thick A93003 aluminum secondary pre-<\/p>\n<p>formed flashing shall be installed over Counterbase Flashing.<\/p>\n<p>Polypropylene Turret Extension: shall be installed onto Secondary<\/p>\n<p>Flashing with a polyurethane sealant and screwed into flashing with<\/p>\n<p>(4) #8&#215;1\/2\u201d philip head, self-tapping stainless steel screws.<\/p>\n<p>Turret Shroud: shall be installed onto Secondary Flashing and<\/p>\n<p>Turret Extension.<\/p>\n<p>e<\/p>\n<p>No caulking will be used as primary water leak protection.<\/p>\n<p>f<\/p>\n<p>All tiles shall be saw cut and not &#8220;broken to fit&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Metal Shingles<\/p>\n<p>10\u201d tubular skylights are the only size units approved for installation on all<\/p>\n<p>tile roofs in United Mutual.
