A special series of free, 60-minute yoga classes is open to all Village residents with a previous diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Led by an experienced yoga instructor, these classes focus on modifications to ensure safe practices by emphasizing balance, mobility and strength specific to PD.
Classes will be held in the Clubhouse 5 fitness room every Tuesday from May 14 through August 13 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. All ages and ability levels are welcome. Bring your own mat if you have one; however, all necessary equipment will be provided for class participation.
The class will be followed by a 30-minute group discussion. Nikki Latimer, a student in Boston University’s occupational therapy program, brings over eight years of yoga teaching experience and extensive work with PD outreach groups.
Register in the Community Center recreation or Clubhouse 5 office, or call 949-597-4273. Space is limited.
