A site inspection may<\/p>\n<p>be required prior to approval.<\/p>\n<p>2.2<\/p>\n<p>VMS Landscape Services to be notified prior to excavation to locate all<\/p>\n<p>irrigation components in the vicinity of the work. All irrigation relocations<\/p>\n<p>shall be performed by VMS staff. Member is responsible for any and all<\/p>\n<p>VMS Landscape Services irrigation relocation costs.<\/p>\n<p>23<\/p>\n<p>No patio extensions will be allowed that will restrict drainage or that will<\/p>\n<p>restrict access to areas where on-going maintenance is required.<\/p>\n<p>3.0<\/p>\n<p>APPLICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>341<\/p>\n<p>All installations must have a minimum slope and be able to drain<\/p>\n<p>to inlets or landscaping.<\/p>\n<p>3.2<\/p>\n<p>Plantings or dirt areas inside the defined patio squared off<\/p>\n<p>perimeters may be covered over providing the paving area does not<\/p>\n<p>extend beyond the existing walls.<\/p>\n<p>3.3<\/p>\n<p>Patio slab extensions shall not encroach into common areas.<\/p>\n<p>3.4<\/p>\n<p>An approved variance will be required if proposed plan does extend into<\/p>\n<p>common areas.<br \/>\n3.5<\/p>\n<p>Patios and walkways may be constructed of a concrete slab or<\/p>\n<p>interlocking concrete pavers.<\/p>\n<p>3.6<\/p>\n<p>Interlocking concrete pavers<\/p>\n<p>Pavers may be 7\/8 of an inch to 1 inch thick if overlaid on existing<\/p>\n<p>concrete slab. Pavers must be a minimum of 2 3\/8 inches thick if<\/p>\n<p>overlaid on sand.<\/p>\n<p>Interlocking paver installations over sand must use a 4 inch deep<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Class 2\u2019 sub-base under a 1 inch thick layer of course sand as the<\/p>\n<p>top-base. Paved area must be compacted with a vibrating flat plate<\/p>\n<p>or hand tamper to lock pavers into place.<\/p>\n<p>Interlocking paver installations must use treated wood, redwood, or<\/p>\n<p>plastic edging if required by manufacturer. Edging shall be secured in<\/p>\n<p>place per manufacturer&#8217;s guidelines. Edging will not be required<\/p>\n<p>when abutting to walls or concrete slabs or walkways.<\/p>\n<p>3.7<\/p>\n<p>Concrete slabs<\/p>\n<p>If the proposed patio slab is adjoined to an existing slab, a detail of how<\/p>\n<p>the slab will be doweled to existing slab must be provided.<\/p>\n<p>Concrete slabs to be constructed as per this section detail:<\/p>\n<p>4&#8243; (min.) concrete slab; 2500 p.s.i with<\/p>\n<p>10 gauge Wire mesh or #3 rebar reinforcement minimum<\/p>\n<p>6 mil plastic sheeting vapor barrier &#8211; minimum<\/p>\n<p>1\u201d compacted construction sand &#8211; minimum<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n<p>\u2014<\/p>\n<p>==<\/p>\n<p>=<\/p>\n<p>Compacted existing soil<\/p>\n<p>PATIO SLAB SECTION<\/p>\n<p>C. Slip resistance finish: For safety considerations, it is recommended that<\/p>\n<p>any finish of a concrete slab have a SCOF (Static Coefficient of<\/p>\n<p>Friction) of .06 or higher, conforming to established ADA guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>D.
