Seamless gutters: A seamless gutter is a single piece of gutter formed<\/p>\n
on the jobsite to match the exact measurement of a particular job.<\/p>\n
Seamless gutters can be run in lengths up to 100 feet.<\/p>\n

Hidden gutter hangers: A hidden gutter hanger is designed to clip under<\/p>\n
the gutter hem and then screwed to the fascia board from inside the<\/p>\n
gutter.<\/p>\n

Spike and ferrule hangers: A spike is a long nail that penetrates the<\/p>\n
front of a gutter and is directed to the back of the gutter through a<\/p>\n
ferrule or tube.<\/p>\n

Fascia: A finished wooden board or other flat piece of material such that<\/p>\n
covers the end of the roof rafters.<\/p>\n

APPLICATIONS<\/p>\n

All gutter installations are to be seamless.<\/p>\n
3.2<\/p>\n
All gutters shall have a slope of no less than 1\/8-inch per foot along<\/p>\n
their entire run length but no more than \u201cz-inch in 40 lineal feet. Gutters<\/p>\n
and downspouts shall be installed so that water does not pool at any<\/p>\n
point.<\/p>\n
3.3<\/p>\n
Downspouts shall be installed at intervals appropriate for its installation<\/p>\n
in compliance with The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors\u2019<\/p>\n
National Association (SMACNA).<\/p>\n
A. In no case shall downspout spacing exceed 40 lineal feet.<\/p>\n
B. No downspout may be installed that will drain into an area that<\/p>\n
will effect surface drainage in an adverse way.<\/p>\n
3.4<\/p>\n
All gutter installations that penetrate the roof systems in any way<\/p>\n
are prohibited.<\/p>\n
3.5<\/p>\n
All gutters are to be 6-inches wide as measured across the top.<\/p>\n
Gutters are to be made of painted aluminum with a minimum<\/p>\n
gauge of .027. Vinyl coated aluminum is permitted. Copper and<\/p>\n
steel gutters or downspouts are not permitted.<\/p>\n

3.6<\/p>\n
All downspouts to be sized appropriately for the area that is being<\/p>\n
drained.
\n3.7<\/p>\n
Termination of a downspout shall not allow water flowing out of a<\/p>\n
downspout to flow back towards the building. A combination of<\/p>\n
downspout and splash blocks may be used to achieve positive<\/p>\n
drainage way from building.<\/p>\n
3.8<\/p>\n
Downspouts that terminate directly into a drain inlet must provide a 1-<\/p>\n
inch air gap at point of transition.<\/p>\n
3.9<\/p>\n
Gutters and leaf guards are required in order to assist in substantially<\/p>\n
reducing maintenance costs; prevent pest infestations and breeding<\/p>\n
sites;<\/p>\n
provide fire protection from flying embers;<\/p>\n
and prevent<\/p>\n
obstructions.<\/p>\n
3.10<\/p>\n
Gutters and downspouts will be of the same color. Color to conform to<\/p>\n
United Mutual’s exterior paint color standards options 1 through 10<\/p>\n
corresponding to the geographical area of the manor.<\/p>\n
3.11<\/p>\n
Alteration aluminum gutters and downspouts are not to be connected<\/p>\n
to original steel gutters and downspouts. If the alteration gutter system<\/p>\n
must be connected to an original steel gutter system, the member is<\/p>\n
responsible for replacing the original steel gutter system with new<\/p>\n
aluminum that matches the original style and color.<\/p>\n
3.12<\/p>\n
Gutters attached to the mutual owned fascia are required to be<\/p>\n
attached using gutter hangers and be spaced at a minimum of 30-<\/p>\n
inches. Aluminum and quick screw hangers are prohibited. Spike and<\/p>\n
ferrule hangers are prohibited.<\/p>\n
3.13<\/p>\n
All penetrations must be properly sealed, exposed wood must be<\/p>\n
primed and painted to match the existing paint of the building. Member<\/p>\n
