Skylights may be of openable or fixed type.<\/p>\n
2.2<\/p>\n
Interior finish, such as open well or luminous panel ceiling, is optional.<\/p>\n
Size of opening at ceiling line is optional unless specifically called out<\/p>\n
on Standard Plan drawing to be of a special size, to comply with light<\/p>\n
and ventilation requirement.<\/p>\n

Skylight(s) installed on any roof under warranty with the Mutual’s<\/p>\n
reroofing contractor, shall require the roofing contractor holding the<\/p>\n
warranty to complete the roof tie-in work at the member’s expense.<\/p>\n

Roofing repairs and installation must be in strict conformance with<\/p>\n
the International Code Council (1.C.C.), Third Mutual Standards,<\/p>\n
and standard drawings.<\/p>\n
2.5<\/p>\n
Electrical fixtures may be placed inside skylight wells providing they<\/p>\n
meet the latest edition of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C.).<\/p>\n
2.6<\/p>\n
Skylight glazing shall be either off-white or smoke tinted in color.<\/p>\n
Clear skylights are not acceptable on any roof. All skylight glazing<\/p>\n
shall match in style with the existing skylights on the same roof. Any<\/p>\n
deviation in style will require review and approval by Manor Alterations<\/p>\n
and\/or may require Architectural Controls and Standards Committee<\/p>\n
(ACSC) approval.<\/p>\n
2.7<\/p>\n
One skylight shall be permitted per 10 linear feet of a patio cover’s
\nlongest dimension, and all skylight placement and spacing shall be<\/p>\n
approved by Manor Alterations.<\/p>\n
2.8<\/p>\n
Maximum skylight size shall not exceed International Building Code<\/p>\n
and Title 24 requirements.<\/p>\n

Skylights shall be curb mounted and installed per Standard Plans<\/p>\n
and\/or drawings in detail, size and location. Skylights will meet or<\/p>\n
exceed all current International Code Council (1.C.C.), State and\/or<\/p>\n
City Standards.<\/p>\n
2.10<\/p>\n
Skylights shall be mounted on minimum 2″x6″ curbs. Mounting shall<\/p>\n
be with hex-head screws with neoprene washers to aid in removal<\/p>\n
during reroofing.<\/p>\n
2.11<\/p>\n
No skylight shall be installed within 12″ of any vent, ridge, or vertical<\/p>\n
structure.<\/p>\n
2.12<\/p>\n
Skylights installed in existing acoustical sprayed ceilings may<\/p>\n
encounter asbestos. The resident(s) and contractor(s) must meet or<\/p>\n
exceed requirements of Federal, State of local government regarding<\/p>\n
asbestos abatement procedures.<\/p>\n
2.13<\/p>\n
All skylights shall be of International Conference of Building Officials<\/p>\n
(ICBO) approved double lens construction.<\/p>\n
2.14<\/p>\n
Square-Flex\u2122 or equivalent skylight tubes are permitted, provided<\/p>\n
that the installation meets all of the aforementioned standards.<\/p>\n
2.15<\/p>\n
Modification of trusses and other structural members are not allowed<\/p>\n
unless such modifications are properly engineered and submitted to the<\/p>\n
City for review and approval. A complete set of plans and structural<\/p>\n
calculations and associated City Building permit is required to be<\/p>\n
submitted to Manor Alterations prior to the start of the work and a<\/p>\n
complete set of as-builts upon completion of the work along with a copy<\/p>\n
