There are 23 events scheduled throughout the community: Archery, badminton, basketball, bicycling,<\/p>\n
billiards, bocce ball, bridge (progressive), equestrian, golf (18-hole, nine-hole and par-three), lawn<\/p>\n
bowling, outdoor pickleball, paddle tennis, p\u00e9tanque, poker, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis,<\/p>\n
target shooting, tennis, volleyball and soft volleyball.<\/p>\n
ELIGIBILITY: As safety is of primary concern, individual or team competitors must possess a valid<\/p>\n
Laguna Woods Village ID card. A required waiver and must be signed prior to participation. Some<\/p>\n
events require additional waivers to be signed at the venue.<\/p>\n
FEES: Registration fees include an event t-shirt, a closing ceremony invitation and medal eligibility.<\/p>\n
Additional fees for some events (bridge, golf and target shooting) are to be paid by the participant at<\/p>\n
the venue. No refunds will be issued once event has started.<\/p>\n
From February 18 through March 7: $15 for one event; $5 each additional event<\/p>\n
REGISTRATION: Register at the Community Center Fitness facility at 24351 El Toro Road during regular<\/p>\n
operating hours. Find details of each competition in the attached registration packet. Each competitor<\/p>\n
and partner must complete a registration form and must pay registration fees. No changes may be<\/p>\n
made to the registration form once it is submitted. If an event requires a partner, participants must<\/p>\n
write partner\u2019s first and last name on the application. Registration closes March 7. Late registration<\/p>\n
without a t-shirt is determined only by the events coordinator. Payment must be made by check<\/p>\n
(payable to GRF) or credit card only\u2014cash will not be accepted. Credit\/debit card fees apply.<\/p>\n
SHIRT PICKUP: Registered participants may pick up their event t-shirt beginning Tuesday, March 25, at<\/p>\n
the Community Center Fitness facility. No t-shirt exchanges are permitted.<\/p>\n
CHECK-IN: Participants must check in no less than 15 minutes prior to the start of their event unless<\/p>\n
otherwise noted. If a participant has not checked in prior to the start of the event, a forfeit will be<\/p>\n
announced. Some events require earlier check-in; please reference event details.<\/p>\n
ATTIRE: Participants are encouraged to wear their Village Games t-shirt to support the event and<\/p>\n
sponsors. Other athletic attire suitable for the event is acceptable.<\/p>\n
CLOSING CEREMONY: This event will be held Thursday, April 24, at the Clubhouse 5 Main Lounge;<\/p>\n
doors open at 9 a.m. The closing ceremony will feature a presentation and sponsor booths.<\/p>\n
Participants should wear their Village Games t-shirt for a group photo.<\/p>\n

ESTATE AND NEXT OF KIN, WARRANT AND AGREE AS FOLLOWS:<\/p>\n
| UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT PARTICIPATION IN THE LAGUNA WOODS VILLAGE GAMES IS VOLUNTARY AND INVOLVES<\/p>\n
STRENUOUS AND HAZARDOUS ACTIVITIES WITH INHERENT RISK OF INJURY INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, MINOR OR SEVERE<\/p>\n
BODILY INJURIES, PARALYSIS, STROKE, HEART ATTACK AND DEATH.<\/p>\n
| AGREE THAT PARTICIPATION, ATTENDANCE AND USE OF FACILITIES INCLUDING ASSOCIATED PRACTICE AND PLAYING FACILITIES,<\/p>\n
EQUIPMENT, PREMISES, SERVICES AND PROGRAMS ARE UNDERTAKEN BY ME AND AT MY SOLE RISK AND | AGREE TO ACCEPT AND<\/p>\n

or loss or damage to personal property, arising out of any unintentional, intentional or negligent acts or omissions, AND THAT | AM<\/p>\n
SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBTAINING MY OWN INSURANCE COVERAGES.<\/p>\n
| AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS, RELEASE, WAIVE LIABILITY, DEFEND, COVENANT NOT TO SUE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE Golden Rain<\/p>\n
Foundation of Laguna Woods, Village Management Services, Inc., participating Laguna Woods Village Clubs and related entities, and<\/p>\n
their officers, directors, partners, employees, agents, volunteers, servants, sponsors, invitees, independent contractors, and assigns<\/p>\n
(hereafter Releasees) from and against any and all present and future liability, claims, financial losses, lawsuits, demands, actions,<\/p>\n
damages, expense and causes of action whatsoever, including attorneys\u2019 fees and costs, arising out of, or related to, any loss, bodily<\/p>\n
injury, sickness, disease, death, and damage to property or loss of use, that may be sustained by me or to any property belonging to<\/p>\n
me, or that may be made by me, my representatives, family, estate, heirs or assigns, related to my participation, attendance or<\/p>\n
observation of the Laguna Woods Village Games, INCLUDING THOSE ARISING OUT OF ANY ACTIVE OR PASSIVE NEGLIGENCE OF<\/p>\n
RELEASEES, EXCEPT THAT WHICH ARISES FROM THE GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT OF RELEASEES.<\/p>\n
| AGREE THAT THIS HOLD HARMLESS, RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT IS INTENDED TO BE AS BROAD AND<\/p>\n
INCLUSIVE AS PERMITTED BY THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, and that if any portion is ruled invalid, the balance shall<\/p>\n
continue in full legal force and effect.<\/p>\n
I HAVE READ AND VOLUNTARILY SIGN THIS HOLD HARMLESS, RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AGREEMENT, which shall remain in<\/p>\n
effect for the duration of my participation, attendance or observation of the Laguna Woods Village Games, and agree that no oral<\/p>\n
agreements, representations, statements or inducements apart from this written agreement have been made.<\/p>\n
| REPRESENT AND WARRANT THAT | AM FULLY COMPETENT TO EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT, THAT | HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT,<\/p>\n
AND THAT | UNDERSTAND THAT IT LIMITS THE LIABILITY OF THE RELEASEES AND WAIVES ANY CLAIM FOR ANY INJURY | MAY<\/p>\n
SUSTAIN, OR LOSS OF, OR DAMAGE TO, MY PROPERTY IN CONNECTION WITH THE LAGUNA WOODS VILLAGE GAMES AND RELATED<\/p>\n
ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS.<\/p>\n
PHOTOGRAPHER’S RELEASE AGREEMENT<\/p>\n
| permit the use of activity\/event photography and\/or video of myself for GRF Laguna Woods Village marketing and promotion.<\/p>\n
