Exhaust fans may be located on flat, sloped, or gabled ends of roofs,<\/p>\n
regardless of roofing material provided proper sealant methods are applied.<\/p>\n

Units installed on sloping roofs and gable ends must be painted a color to<\/p>\n
match the building.<\/p>\n

All roofing work to accommodate fans shall conform to the International<\/p>\n
Building Code and standard drawings.<\/p>\n

All electrical work shall conform to the latest edition of the N.E.C.<\/p>\n

No exhaust-fan unit or cover shall exceed 24″ square.<\/p>\n

UNIT TYPES<\/p>\n
4.1<\/p>\n
Wind-driven turbine units and plastic units are not permitted.<\/p>\n
4.2<\/p>\n
Fan units may operate on a thermostat or manual switch.<\/p>\n

Where desired, fans may be optional, although vents must be as outlined in<\/p>\n
all sections above. Fans may be installed behind an existing vent provided<\/p>\n
