A City of Laguna Woods permit may be required. All<\/p>\n<p>fees for both Mutual and City permits shall be paid for by the<\/p>\n<p>Member and\/or his or her contractor. Member and\/or his or her<\/p>\n<p>contractor must provide the Permits and Inspections office with City<\/p>\n<p>permit number(s) prior to beginning work.<\/p>\n<p>1.2<\/p>\n<p>MEMBERS&#8217; RESPONSIBILITY: The Member is solely responsible<\/p>\n<p>for the maintenance, repair, and\/or removal of all alterations to the<\/p>\n<p>building.<\/p>\n<p>1.3<\/p>\n<p>CODES AND REGULATIONS: All work shall comply with all<\/p>\n<p>applicable local, state, and federal requirements including, but not<\/p>\n<p>limited to, the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC).<\/p>\n<p>1.4<\/p>\n<p>WORK HOURS: No work shall commence prior to 7:00a.m. and<\/p>\n<p>no work shall be permitted after 6:00p.m. Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Work on Saturday shall be permitted from 9:00a.m \u2014 2:00p.m. for<\/p>\n<p>work which results in construction-related noise (e.g. cutting tile,<\/p>\n<p>hammering, use of power tools). For work that does not result in<\/p>\n<p>excessive noise, such as painting and carpet installation, permitted<\/p>\n<p>hours are 7:00a.m. \u2014 6:00p.m. No work whatsoever shall be<\/p>\n<p>permitted on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>1.5<\/p>\n<p>PLANS: The Member applying for a permit shall provide to the<\/p>\n<p>Permits and Inspections office a detailed plan(s) for approval<\/p>\n<p>indicating all work to be done, i.e., size, location, description and<\/p>\n<p>specifications.<\/p>\n<p>1.6<\/p>\n<p>DUMPSITES: The premises shall be kept free of accumulation of<\/p>\n<p>waste materials and\/or rubbish caused by construction work. The<\/p>\n<p>Member and\/or his or her contractor is responsible for removal of<\/p>\n<p>debris and excess material and must leave work areas &#8220;BROOM<\/p>\n<p>CLEAN&#8221; daily. USE OF COMMUNITY DUMPSITES FOR<\/p>\n<p>Section 5C \u2014 Satellite Dishes: 3 Story Buildings<\/p>\n<p>Page 1 of 7<br \/>\nCONSTRUCTION RELATED DUMPING IS NOT PERMITTED.<\/p>\n<p>Contractor&#8217;s or Member&#8217;s dumpsters, if required, must have<\/p>\n<p>location approved by the Permits and Inspections office.<\/p>\n<p>1.7<\/p>\n<p>CONTRACTOR: Installation must be performed by a California<\/p>\n<p>licensed contractor of the appropriate trade.<\/p>\n<p>1.8<\/p>\n<p>CONTRACTOR\u2019S CONDUCT: Member&#8217;s contractor&#8217;s, their<\/p>\n<p>personnel, and sub-contractors shall refrain at all times from using<\/p>\n<p>profanity, abusive or loud language, and must wear shirts at all<\/p>\n<p>times. Radio, MP3, CD or cassette players are not permitted on<\/p>\n<p>the project site. Contractor personnel will, at all times, extend and<\/p>\n<p>exhibit a courteous demeanor to residents.<\/p>\n<p>2.0<\/p>\n<p>GENERAL GUIDELINES<\/p>\n<p>21<\/p>\n<p>Any installation permitted in Mutual Common Area at three story<\/p>\n<p>buildings must follow all guidelines set forth by the following Mutual<\/p>\n<p>Alteration Standard.<\/p>\n<p>2.2<\/p>\n<p>Prior to installation of any satellite dish, a plan and the<\/p>\n<p>specifications of all proposed work and equipment must be<\/p>\n<p>submitted for approval as specified in Section 1.5. The submitted<\/p>\n<p>plan must indicate all work to be done, i.e., type of dish, size, a full<\/p>\n<p>description, it&#8217;s location on the building, anchoring, and method of<\/p>\n<p>sealing wall(s) and attachments. Site location will be contingent<\/p>\n<p>upon Mutual approval.<\/p>\n<p>23<\/p>\n<p>The Mutual Member assumes all responsibility for any damage<\/p>\n<p>including, but not limited to, roof or wall damage, or damage from<\/p>\n<p>moisture intrusion resulting from improper installation of the satellite<\/p>\n<p>dish.<\/p>\n<p>24<\/p>\n<p>No satellite dish will be permitted which may become hazardous to<\/p>\n<p>other residents or workmen due to its location or dimensions.<\/p>\n<p>2.5<\/p>\n<p>Any satellite dish must be made easily removable as required for<\/p>\n<p>performance of maintenance. In the event a satellite dish must be<\/p>\n<p>removed it shall be the Mutual Member&#8217;s responsibility to remove<\/p>\n<p>and properly store the dish until such time that maintenance work<\/p>\n<p>has been completed. The cost of removal, storage and re-<\/p>\n<p>installation shall be borne by the Mutual Member.<\/p>\n<p>Section 5C \u2014 Satellite Dishes: 3 Story Buildings<\/p>\n<p>Page 2 of 7<br \/>\n2.6<\/p>\n<p>Any satellite dish installation must follow all guidelines set forth by<\/p>\n<p>the Federal Communications Commission&#8217;s Over-the-Air-<\/p>\n<p>Reception- Devices rule (OTARD).<\/p>\n<p>2.7<\/p>\n<p>Any installation violating these guidelines is subject to immediate<\/p>\n<p>removal at the sole cost of the Mutual Member, and restoration of<\/p>\n<p>any Mutual property, at the Member&#8217;s expense.<\/p>\n<p>2.8<\/p>\n<p>Should the proposed location of a satellite dish be in an area that is<\/p>\n<p>technically Common Area, e.g., the roof, then the applicant is<\/p>\n<p>required to execute and submit to Third Laguna Hills Mutual, prior<\/p>\n<p>to installation of a dish, the \u201cAgreement Regarding Satellite Dish<\/p>\n<p>Installation on Common Area Property\u201d or similarly titled document.<\/p>\n<p>3.0<\/p>\n<p>INSTALLATION GUIDELINES<\/p>\n<p>3.41<\/p>\n<p>Satellite dish installation is permitted on Exclusive Use Common<\/p>\n<p>Area, e.g. patios or balconies. Dish must stay within footprint of<\/p>\n<p>patio or perimeter of balcony railing.<\/p>\n<p>3.2<\/p>\n<p>Only one (1) satellite dish per manor is allowed.<\/p>\n<p>3.3<\/p>\n<p>Any satellite dish installed on Common Area shall not exceed a<\/p>\n<p>diameter of 36\u201d,with the exception of manor types listed in<\/p>\n<p>paragraph 3.15 herein.<\/p>\n<p>3.4<\/p>\n<p>No coaxial cable shall be larger than 2\u201d in diameter.<\/p>\n<p>3.5<\/p>\n<p>Unless otherwise specified, coaxial cable shall be encased in 2\u201d<\/p>\n<p>26 gauge steel wiremold fastened to the surface of the wall with 2\u201d<\/p>\n<p>mounting clips and anchors, specified for stucco, attached every<\/p>\n<p>four feet. Wiremold shall be painted to match the surface to which<\/p>\n<p>it is attached prior to installation. Fasteners shall be properly<\/p>\n<p>sealed to prevent moisture intrusion. Sealants shall be specifically<\/p>\n<p>manufactured for the application for which it is used.<\/p>\n<p>3.6<\/p>\n<p>Drilling through a roof is prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>3.7<\/p>\n<p>Utilization of any GRF Broadband installation and\/or equipment is<\/p>\n<p>prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>3.8<\/p>\n<p>Mounting of a satellite dish to PVC, ABS or plumbing vent pipes is<\/p>\n<p>prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>Section 5C \u2014 Satellite Dishes: 3 Story Buildings<\/p>\n<p>Page 3 of 7<br \/>\n3.9<\/p>\n<p>No satellite dish or any portion of a satellite dish and its related<\/p>\n<p>members shall be attached to any built-up roofing on a flat roof.<\/p>\n<p>3.10<\/p>\n<p>No modifications to any fascia, rain gutter or plumbing vent shall be<\/p>\n<p>permitted. A satellite dish installation shall not obstruct a rain gutter<\/p>\n<p>or plumbing vent in any way.<\/p>\n<p>3.11<\/p>\n<p>It is recommended that satellite dishes and installation materials be<\/p>\n<p>grounded in accordance with the National Electric Code.<\/p>\n<p>3.12<\/p>\n<p>Garden Villa-type buildings with a mansard roof<\/p>\n<p>(a)<\/p>\n<p>Place the satellite dish approximately 15 feet from the edge<\/p>\n<p>of the flat roof above the manor for which the service is<\/p>\n<p>being provided. Coaxial cable installation is permitted on<\/p>\n<p>exterior walls but is prohibited on interior walls facing the<\/p>\n<p>courtyard. At no time can the dish be mounted on the side of<\/p>\n<p>the building or to existing fascias.<\/p>\n<p>(b)<\/p>\n<p>For installation of a satellite dish onto a flat PVC cool roof,<\/p>\n<p>the member must install a 3\u2019 X 3\u2019 satellite dish pad provided<\/p>\n<p>by the Mutual&#8217;s roofing contractor at the expense of the<\/p>\n<p>Member.<\/p>\n<p>(c)<\/p>\n<p>Mount the satellite dish on a non-penetrating satellite dish<\/p>\n<p>roof-mount weighted down by a minimum of four 8\u201d x 8\u201d x<\/p>\n<p>16\u201d cinderblocks (see Example 1 below).<\/p>\n<p>(d)<\/p>\n<p>Extend the coaxial cable from the dish, across the surface of<\/p>\n<p>the roof, to the mansard roof. Continue over the mansard<\/p>\n<p>roof and rain gutter, firmly and without slack, until the coaxial<\/p>\n<p>cable reaches the overhang. Do not alter or damage the tile<\/p>\n<p>or rain gutter in any way.<\/p>\n<p>(e)<\/p>\n<p>Attach wiremold to the overhang, continue in a straight line<\/p>\n<p>to the wall of the building, and down vertically and<\/p>\n<p>horizontally as required to provide entry to the manor 24&#8243;<\/p>\n<p>from the floor. Encase the coaxial cable in the attached<\/p>\n<p>wiremold. Penetrate the wall to bring coaxial cable into the<\/p>\n<p>manor. (See 3.5).<\/p>\n<p>\u00ae<\/p>\n<p>Do not place wiremold within 18\u201d of balconies, balcony<\/p>\n<p>railings or balcony overhangs. Do not place wiremold across<\/p>\n<p>any part of an overhang vent or near, or on, windows. Do<\/p>\n<p>not alter or damage wall-mounted air conditioners.<\/p>\n<p>Section 5C \u2014 Satellite Dishes: 3 Story Buildings<\/p>\n<p>Page 4 of 7<br \/>\n3.13 LH2Is with an overall flat roof and mansard roof<\/p>\n<p>(a)<\/p>\n<p>Place the satellite dish approximately 15 feet from the edge<\/p>\n<p>of the flat roof above the manor for which the service is<\/p>\n<p>being provided. Coaxial cable installation is permitted on the<\/p>\n<p>back and end walls but is prohibited on the front wall of the<\/p>\n<p>building. At no time can the dish be mounted on the side of<\/p>\n<p>the building or to existing fascias.<\/p>\n<p>(b)<\/p>\n<p>For installation of a satellite dish onto a flat PVC cool roof,<\/p>\n<p>the member must install a 3\u2019 X 3\u2019 satellite dish pad provided<\/p>\n<p>by the Mutual&#8217;s roofing contractor at the expense of the<\/p>\n<p>Member.<\/p>\n<p>(c)<\/p>\n<p>Mount the satellite dish on a non-penetrating satellite dish<\/p>\n<p>roof-mount weighted down by a minimum of four 8\u201d x 8\u201d x<\/p>\n<p>16\u201d cinderblocks (see Example 1 below).<\/p>\n<p>Extend the coaxial cable from the dish, across the surface of<\/p>\n<p>(d)<\/p>\n<p>the flat roof and down the fascia. Encase the<\/p>\n<p>coaxial cable in the attached wiremold. Penetrate the wall to<\/p>\n<p>bring coaxial cable into the manor. (See 3.5)<\/p>\n<p>\u00ae<\/p>\n<p>Do not place wiremold within 18\u201d of balconies, balcony<\/p>\n<p>railings or balcony overhangs. Do not place wiremold across<\/p>\n<p>any part of an overhang vent or near, or on, windows. Do<\/p>\n<p>not alter or damage wall-mounted air conditioners.<\/p>\n<p>3.14 LH2Is<\/p>\n<p>with flat elevated center roof and mansard roof<\/p>\n<p>(a)<\/p>\n<p>Place the satellite dish in the approximate center of the<\/p>\n<p>elevated flat roof above the manor for which the service is<\/p>\n<p>being provided. Coaxial cable installation is permitted on the<\/p>\n<p>back and end walls but is prohibited on the front of the<\/p>\n<p>building. At no time can the dish be mounted on the side of<\/p>\n<p>the building or existing fascias.<\/p>\n<p>Section 5C \u2014 Satellite Dishes: 3 Story Buildings<\/p>\n<p>Page 5 of 7<br \/>\n(b)<\/p>\n<p>For installation of a satellite dish onto a flat PVC cool roof,<\/p>\n<p>the member must install a 3\u2019 X 3\u2019 satellite dish pad provided<\/p>\n<p>by the Mutual&#8217;s roofing contractor at the expense of the<\/p>\n<p>Member.<\/p>\n<p>(c)<\/p>\n<p>Mount the satellite dish on a non-penetrating satellite dish<\/p>\n<p>roof-mount weighted down by a minimum of four 8\u201d x 8\u201d x<\/p>\n<p>16\u201d cinderblocks (see Example 1 below).<\/p>\n<p>(d)<\/p>\n<p>Extend the coaxial cable from the dish across the surface of<\/p>\n<p>the flat elevated roof, and continue downward, firmly and<\/p>\n<p>without slack, over the mansard roof until the coaxial cable<\/p>\n<p>reaches the rain gutter or fascia. Do not alter or damage the<\/p>\n<p>fascia or rain gutter in any way.<\/p>\n<p>(e)<\/p>\n<p>Attach wiremold to the overhang, continue in a straight line<\/p>\n<p>to the wall of the building, and down vertically and<\/p>\n<p>horizontally, as required, to provide entry to the manor 24&#8243;<\/p>\n<p>from the floor.
