1.0<\/p>\n
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
1.1<\/p>\n
PERMITS AND FEES: A Mutual permit is required for all alterations<\/p>\n
to the building. A City of Laguna Woods permit may be required. All<\/p>\n
fees for both Mutual and City permits shall be paid for by the<\/p>\n
Member and\/or his or her contractor. Member and\/or his or her<\/p>\n
contractor must provide the Permits and Inspections office with City<\/p>\n
permit number(s) prior to beginning work.<\/p>\n
1.2<\/p>\n
MEMBERS’ RESPONSIBILITY: The Member is solely responsible<\/p>\n
for the maintenance, repair, and\/or removal of all alterations to the<\/p>\n
building.<\/p>\n
1.3<\/p>\n
CODES AND REGULATIONS: All work shall comply with all<\/p>\n
applicable local, state, and federal requirements including, but not<\/p>\n
limited to, the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC).<\/p>\n
1.4<\/p>\n
WORK HOURS: No work shall commence prior to 7:00a.m. and<\/p>\n
no work shall be permitted after 6:00p.m. Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n
Work on Saturday shall be permitted from 9:00a.m \u2014 2:00p.m. for<\/p>\n
work which results in construction-related noise (e.g. cutting tile,<\/p>\n
hammering, use of power tools). For work that does not result in<\/p>\n
excessive noise, such as painting and carpet installation, permitted<\/p>\n
hours are 7:00a.m. \u2014 6:00p.m. No work whatsoever shall be<\/p>\n
permitted on Sunday.<\/p>\n
1.5<\/p>\n
PLANS: The Member applying for a permit shall provide to the<\/p>\n
Permits and Inspections office a detailed plan(s) for approval<\/p>\n
indicating all work to be done, i.e., size, location, description and<\/p>\n
specifications.<\/p>\n
1.6<\/p>\n
DUMPSITES: The premises shall be kept free of accumulation of<\/p>\n
waste materials and\/or rubbish caused by construction work. The<\/p>\n
Member and\/or his or her contractor is responsible for removal of<\/p>\n
debris and excess material and must leave work areas “BROOM<\/p>\n
CLEAN” daily. USE OF COMMUNITY DUMPSITES FOR<\/p>\n

\nCONSTRUCTION RELATED DUMPING IS NOT PERMITTED.<\/p>\n
Contractor’s or Member’s dumpsters, if required, must have<\/p>\n
location approved by the Permits and Inspections office.<\/p>\n
1.7<\/p>\n
CONTRACTOR: Installation must be performed by a California<\/p>\n
licensed contractor of the appropriate trade.<\/p>\n
1.8<\/p>\n
CONTRACTOR\u2019S CONDUCT: Member’s contractor’s, their<\/p>\n
personnel, and sub-contractors shall refrain at all times from using<\/p>\n
profanity, abusive or loud language, and must wear shirts at all<\/p>\n
times. Radio, MP3, CD or cassette players are not permitted on<\/p>\n
the project site. Contractor personnel will, at all times, extend and<\/p>\n
exhibit a courteous demeanor to residents.<\/p>\n
2.0<\/p>\n
GENERAL GUIDELINES<\/p>\n
21<\/p>\n
Any installation permitted in Mutual Common Area at three story<\/p>\n
buildings must follow all guidelines set forth by the following Mutual<\/p>\n
Alteration Standard.<\/p>\n
2.2<\/p>\n
Prior to installation of any satellite dish, a plan and the<\/p>\n
specifications of all proposed work and equipment must be<\/p>\n
submitted for approval as specified in Section 1.5. The submitted<\/p>\n
plan must indicate all work to be done, i.e., type of dish, size, a full<\/p>\n
description, it’s location on the building, anchoring, and method of<\/p>\n
sealing wall(s) and attachments. Site location will be contingent<\/p>\n
upon Mutual approval.<\/p>\n
23<\/p>\n
The Mutual Member assumes all responsibility for any damage<\/p>\n
including, but not limited to, roof or wall damage, or damage from<\/p>\n
moisture intrusion resulting from improper installation of the satellite<\/p>\n
dish.<\/p>\n
24<\/p>\n
No satellite dish will be permitted which may become hazardous to<\/p>\n
other residents or workmen due to its location or dimensions.<\/p>\n
2.5<\/p>\n
Any satellite dish must be made easily removable as required for<\/p>\n
performance of maintenance. In the event a satellite dish must be<\/p>\n
removed it shall be the Mutual Member’s responsibility to remove<\/p>\n
and properly store the dish until such time that maintenance work<\/p>\n
has been completed. The cost of removal, storage and re-<\/p>\n
installation shall be borne by the Mutual Member.<\/p>\n

\n2.6<\/p>\n
Any satellite dish installation must follow all guidelines set forth by<\/p>\n
the Federal Communications Commission’s Over-the-Air-<\/p>\n
Reception- Devices rule (OTARD).<\/p>\n
2.7<\/p>\n
Any installation violating these guidelines is subject to immediate<\/p>\n
removal at the sole cost of the Mutual Member, and restoration of<\/p>\n
any Mutual property, at the Member’s expense.<\/p>\n
2.8<\/p>\n
Should the proposed location of a satellite dish be in an area that is<\/p>\n
technically Common Area, e.g., the roof, then the applicant is<\/p>\n
required to execute and submit to Third Laguna Hills Mutual, prior<\/p>\n
to installation of a dish, the \u201cAgreement Regarding Satellite Dish<\/p>\n
Installation on Common Area Property\u201d or similarly titled document.<\/p>\n
3.0<\/p>\n
INSTALLATION GUIDELINES<\/p>\n
3.41<\/p>\n
Satellite dish installation is permitted on Exclusive Use Common<\/p>\n
Area, e.g. patios or balconies. Dish must stay within footprint of<\/p>\n
patio or perimeter of balcony railing.<\/p>\n
3.2<\/p>\n
Only one (1) satellite dish per manor is allowed.<\/p>\n
3.3<\/p>\n
Any satellite dish installed on Common Area shall not exceed a<\/p>\n
diameter of 36\u201d,with the exception of manor types listed in<\/p>\n
paragraph 3.15 herein.<\/p>\n
3.4<\/p>\n
No coaxial cable shall be larger than 2\u201d in diameter.<\/p>\n
3.5<\/p>\n
Unless otherwise specified, coaxial cable shall be encased in 2\u201d<\/p>\n
26 gauge steel wiremold fastened to the surface of the wall with 2\u201d<\/p>\n
mounting clips and anchors, specified for stucco, attached every<\/p>\n
four feet. Wiremold shall be painted to match the surface to which<\/p>\n
it is attached prior to installation. Fasteners shall be properly<\/p>\n
sealed to prevent moisture intrusion. Sealants shall be specifically<\/p>\n
manufactured for the application for which it is used.<\/p>\n
3.6<\/p>\n
Drilling through a roof is prohibited.<\/p>\n
3.7<\/p>\n
Utilization of any GRF Broadband installation and\/or equipment is<\/p>\n
prohibited.<\/p>\n
3.8<\/p>\n
Mounting of a satellite dish to PVC, ABS or plumbing vent pipes is<\/p>\n
prohibited.<\/p>\n

\n3.9<\/p>\n
No satellite dish or any portion of a satellite dish and its related<\/p>\n
members shall be attached to any built-up roofing on a flat roof.<\/p>\n
3.10<\/p>\n
No modifications to any fascia, rain gutter or plumbing vent shall be<\/p>\n
permitted. A satellite dish installation shall not obstruct a rain gutter<\/p>\n
or plumbing vent in any way.<\/p>\n
3.11<\/p>\n
It is recommended that satellite dishes and installation materials be<\/p>\n
grounded in accordance with the National Electric Code.<\/p>\n
3.12<\/p>\n
Garden Villa-type buildings with a mansard roof<\/p>\n
(a)<\/p>\n
Place the satellite dish approximately 15 feet from the edge<\/p>\n
of the flat roof above the manor for which the service is<\/p>\n
being provided. Coaxial cable installation is permitted on<\/p>\n
exterior walls but is prohibited on interior walls facing the<\/p>\n
courtyard. At no time can the dish be mounted on the side of<\/p>\n
the building or to existing fascias.<\/p>\n
(b)<\/p>\n
For installation of a satellite dish onto a flat PVC cool roof,<\/p>\n
the member must install a 3\u2019 X 3\u2019 satellite dish pad provided<\/p>\n
by the Mutual’s roofing contractor at the expense of the<\/p>\n
Member.<\/p>\n
(c)<\/p>\n
Mount the satellite dish on a non-penetrating satellite dish<\/p>\n
roof-mount weighted down by a minimum of four 8\u201d x 8\u201d x<\/p>\n
16\u201d cinderblocks (see Example 1 below).<\/p>\n
(d)<\/p>\n
Extend the coaxial cable from the dish, across the surface of<\/p>\n
the roof, to the mansard roof. Continue over the mansard<\/p>\n
roof and rain gutter, firmly and without slack, until the coaxial<\/p>\n
cable reaches the overhang. Do not alter or damage the tile<\/p>\n
or rain gutter in any way.<\/p>\n
(e)<\/p>\n
Attach wiremold to the overhang, continue in a straight line<\/p>\n
to the wall of the building, and down vertically and<\/p>\n
horizontally as required to provide entry to the manor 24″<\/p>\n
from the floor. Encase the coaxial cable in the attached<\/p>\n
wiremold. Penetrate the wall to bring coaxial cable into the<\/p>\n
manor. (See 3.5).<\/p>\n

Do not place wiremold within 18\u201d of balconies, balcony<\/p>\n
railings or balcony overhangs. Do not place wiremold across<\/p>\n
any part of an overhang vent or near, or on, windows. Do<\/p>\n

(a)<\/p>\n

coaxial cable in the attached wiremold. Penetrate the wall to<\/p>\n
bring coaxial cable into the manor. (See 3.5)<\/p>\n

being provided. Coaxial cable installation is permitted on the<\/p>\n
back and end walls but is prohibited on the front of the<\/p>\n
building. At no time can the dish be mounted on the side of<\/p>\n
the building or existing fascias.<\/p>\n

Attach wiremold to the overhang, continue in a straight line<\/p>\n

from the floor. Encase the coaxial cable in the attached<\/p>\n
