Ageless Ballet with Elsie

The Recreation Division presents Ageless Ballet, a new dance fitness class scheduled on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Clubhouse 1 in the multipurpose room. Ageless Ballet is wildly popular oversees, and the Recreation Division is excited to offer it at Laguna Woods Village!

The class will be taught by Elsie Hill, who studied ballet throughout her youth and graduated from CSU Fullerton with her a BA in Dance. She has taught for multiple dance studios in Orange County, is a certified personal fitness trainer through I.D.E.A., and has been with West Coast Movement Project dance studio since 2013. The 60-minute class will include 20 minutes of warmup stretching, 20 minutes of barre work (using chair backs), and 20 minutes of center work and dancing. The class is modified for the senior demographic, and there will be no jumping or turning.

Students should wear comfortable exercise clothes that they can move in. Ballet slippers are not required, and are only recommended for students with healthy feet; those who need extra support should wear supportive sneakers.

This program is designed to cater to older adults by helping participants improve balance, strength, flexibility, postural adjustments and most importantly, heart health.

Punch cards will be available in the Recreation Division or Clubhouse 1 office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cost for students is $70 for 10 Classes; Laguna Woods Village residents only. For more information, call 949-597-4273.
